this past weekend was such a special weekend for andrew and i! this past year has gone so fast. i remember visiting kaitlin when everything was still new and feeling all the buzz over a new relationship.
we decided to go to richmond to celebrate because that is where we went on our first official date. andrew had pursued me for a few months before i said yes. i had to make him work for it! (haha)
we drove in late friday night, grabbed pizza at belmont. it's a little hole in the wall place that my friend sam recommended for us to go. pizza is a big part of our relationship. we just love it. andrew is amazing at making homemade pizza as well! then we headed over to saison. we got a FLOOD of recommendations to this place so it was a must to check it out.. and i am so glad we did! the vibe, the cocktails, everything about it was amazing.. and we cannot wait to visit again and check it out!
the next morning we hit up urban farmhouse for coffee. the light was amazing in there and we could not help but take advantage of it with all 6 of the cameras we brought.. yes.. i know.. six. we sipped, played with the new polariod camera andrew got me for christmas and enjoyed the rainy morning. after we grabbed lunch at the museum of fine art and looked at their latest display of indian art.
we decided that this little trip would include a lot of picture taking. as a wedding photography team we spend a lot of time taking pictures as our jobs. i find myself never really wanting to use my camera when i'm off the field and just use my phone. so we took a little adventure to belle island and climb all the rocks, enjoy the overcast weather and mostly each others company.
the rest of the trip we spend going to two great vintage stores, buying andrew a new record player, grabbing greek for dinner & to end the trip with dixie donuts.
last but not least.. he bought me tickets to my favorite bands 10 year reunion tour. side story: i saw Mae play this tour ten years ago with my dad at the same venue. seriously.. ten years ago.. nothing makes me feel old than being able to have those stories now. BUT it was an amazing experience to share that concert ten years ago with my dad then years later with my love.
many many more years to come! <3
